Icy surfs up and the bikini still hasn’t arrived yet!

Instantly disappointed is a mild manner way to put it.  Poor me…poor Copper…poor Mr.  It’s -24 degrees this morning.

And the two of them have to go out in it AGAIN.  They might not be the only ones though.  I probably have to go join the ranks, too.

Heavy sighs in unison…

That’s how I felt last night at supper, too, as I stared out the window at the stacked up snow glowing in the rays of the sunset on Day 8.

This white blustery wintry stuff is dragging on, and on, and on.

I’m disappointed the dang groundhogs around the country forgot to mention their early predictions for Spring mean,

“BTW folks, you’re going endearingly love the way the lion kicks your arse as it steadily heads into the lamb’s arrival of Spring.  You might wanna keep all of your trip plans scheduled – it’s gonna be a wild ride to the finish of this nastily persistent pain in the butt-cheeks’ winter.”

Oh, my…perhaps an extra dose of Vitamin D is in order for thee?

Yeah, probably…

This is the point of the year where the instantly, consistently, rapidly, dumping of snow and icy conditions have caused many tires to hit the icy roads, and apparently, it is a-okay for delivery trucks to be delayed by it?

Where or where are you my tiny package?

I giddily awaited its arrival all day while admiringly gawking out the windows at the surfy waves of snow in the yard.

Snow bunny surfs up around here!

I would’ve been able to launch a flying rabbit over the fence, surf to surf, with all the excitement I was hesitantly containing throughout the day.

No wait, I think it’s more anticipation of the pending trip – far, far, far, away from snow and ice!   Where I adore the waves crashing on my unfrozen toes…

Tuesday 157c

Or, maybe it was ‘cuz of my sore thigh muscles from the previous overzealously active squatting away kind of day I had?  I was shyly embarrassed walking around looking at all my reminders scattered in the house.  I scrunched my face in pain each squat I tried to do throughout the day.

But, I could still hear the whispering howling winds’ over my sighs of pain.  Mother Natures’ amazingly gifted talents swirled in some awe-inspiring dropping moods here in our little rural spot in the tundra.

Plus, there’s currently no leg room for sitting outside in the sun either.

To top it off, I got instantly depressed every time I checked the delivery status for my bikini shipment.

I was hoping the icy entryway didn’t scare off the driver!

I kept looking fondly for a delivery truck’s arrival on the freshly plowed driveway.  Squatting while I was at it.

I just knew the clear driveway would make it easier for delivery.  I was counting on it.

But NOPE…not happening…sadly, I must tell you all…

Yeah, my new bikini didn’t arrive as originally, secondarily, thirdly, fourthly, fifthly, sixthly, seventhly, eighthly promised.  Our Friday night fashion show was covered in twelve layers of fleece kind of a bust.

Now the bikini won’t be delivered until Monday?!  FedEx my a**!

Really…not until Monday?  It supposedly shipped right away the day I ordered it?  Where is it coming from, Timbuktu?

I was going to defy the odds and put the bikini on the moment it arrived.  Rapidly, so I could readily replace it back in the box, chase the delivery guy down the driveway so he could take it back on its trek, aka, to the originating destination that took far too long, over 7 days and counting, to find its way to me.

Now I might just have to keep it when it arrives?

Maybe I need therapy?  Yeah…that’s it.

Good thing today is the correct day the Kohl’s ad works for 30% off.  So, yeah, happily ever after.  The winds of sales are calling me.  I shall eventually venture out in the cold today, too, to go retail therapy shopping locally.

Post Inspiration – Linda G. Hill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday – according to Linda, Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “ends with -ly.” Start your post with any adverb that ends in “-ly.” Bonus points if you end with an adverb too. Have fun!

PS – I think I’ve been spoiled by Amazon Prime, their shipments are so fast.  This shipment is taking forever.  Do you ever remember a time when the postal service has been delayed due to weather?  Is that why rates went up?  Happy Saturday all!

  1. We don’t buy much from Amazon. The worst shipping we get is the kind where FedEx gets it close, then gives it to the Post Office. At that point, it’s two days away, even though I could walk to the PO from here.

When that bikini arrives, contain yourself. I don’t want a picture of them hauling you out of a below-zero snow beach.

    1. LOL – wow, that’s crazy! That’s way too many handoffs for a delivery. Don’t worry, I’ll contain myself, I’m really too much of a whimp to go outside if I don’t have to. 30% off is tempting though!

    2. I was curious after you said your Fed Ex packages end up at the post office…that same thing happened to mine! It will be delivered by the local post office on Monday. And the package was coming from Ohio…not Timbuktu!

  2. Have you heard about the new little driverless delivery vans they’re using in some CA neighborhoods. Such a thing would have to have major snow tires for your area! Love the pics of your snow waves–never thought of drifts as waves, I love that! But, yes, your ocean waves look pretty tempting too!

    1. Oh, my, there’s no way those driverless drivers could handle our icy roads! Even paying attention to the roads as I was driving yesterday, there were many surprise patches of ice that took the wheel! I am dreaming of waves, so I see them everywhere!

  3. From the perspective of someone who rarely sees snow in person, this is beautiful – all smooth and sparkley. If the delivery people only knew your driveway is clear….

    1. Thank you, JoAnna – it is beautiful to look at. Maybe Monday (when we get 3-5″ more) they’ll wish they had stopped on Friday. 😉 Happy Saturday to you!

  4. The package tracking thing is a big tease Shelley, I’ve had the same experience. Grrrr! The snow looks beautiful but so cold. 😎

    1. It’s a tease, that’s for dang sure. Irritating too! Yes, it is beautiful. Enjoy the warmth in your neck of the woods!

  5. FedEx will drive by, slow down and toss your package in the general direction of your front door. That has been my experience. Hopefully it won’t get buried in all that snow. Which, by the way, is beautiful – the photo of the trees with shadows on the snow is exceptional!

    1. LOL! I feel sorry for the delivery drivers in this weather, so I may cut them some slack…maybe. Thank you, glad you liked the photo!

  6. Packages get there when they get there, regardless of when the Post Office or delivery service says it’ll be there. We had that experience recently, when we were expecting something that we had to sign for. The tracking service said it was on the truck at 8:45 AM at their depot not too far away, and I figured it’d be at our house sometime that morning. It didn’t arrive until 4 PM.

Amazon does have delivery by drone in some areas, but it doesn’t appear that yours is one of them.

    1. Yes, so true. I suspect that their algorithms are a prized possession that even the delivery drivers aren’t aware of? Oh, I think the eagles or hawks would give the drones a run for their packages here!

  7. Shelley, you are brave. I would never let anyone see me in a bikini. I wouldn’t even want to see myself in a bikini! I hope you wear it on your trip to the tropics!

  8. We got a new front door runner by mail and the delivery guy came to our door around 8:30 pm. We thought that was odd. But he has a truck full and keeps going until he’s done I guess. Definitely not a 9 to 5 gig.

The pictures of the snow are very beautiful from afar 😊. Thanks for sharing them.

    1. Yeah, it’s not a 9-5 gig, and I suspect the deliveries are still off from the weather delays from the Polar Vortex! Thank you, glad you enjoyed the view from afar!

      1. Good idea … he’s got a lot on his plate right now … all his attorney fees must be a killer, starting with the divorce lawyer (not to mention the alimony payments).
