With the changes of seasons comes hope

In less than a week, it feels like the arrival of fall is soon to leave us.  The colorful leaves are falling to the ground.  The leaves that took forever to form on the catalpa trees have fallen off all at once.

We’ve had frost a few times, and that means winter isn’t far behind.

Are we ready for another change of seasons?  After the week we’ve had here in our little world, I think we’re ready for just about anything.

Nah, on second thought, maybe not.

All we know is that if we are dog-like and we approach changes with the right state of mind, it is more fun.  There is always something to discover.  Sure, we appreciate it more when we a choice in changes life throws our way.  No matter what though, we can run through the changes with gusto when we’re ready to embrace whatever comes our way.

When the seasons shift, even the subtle beginning, the scent of a promised change, I feel something stir inside me.  Hopefulness?  Gratitude?  Openness?  Whatever it is, it is welcome. – Kristin Armstrong

Ah, yes, there is hope.  This winter our new path will take us on continued healing and recovery and most important discovery.

All will be well, yes it will.

  1. It was just a short time ago when you were lamenting the cold and hungering for the return of your days in Jamaica. And now we are back again. Which made me realize we spend more time in the cold weather than the warmer weather.
Not fair! Not fair! Not fair!
But we make the best of it, don’t we?

    1. Yes, and YES! At least this coming spring I will make it to Jamaica! 🙂 I love that you remembered all of that, you’re such a great blogging friend, thank you!

      1. We’re going to Las Vegas this spring. Renting a car there and then driving to The Grand Canyon! Can’t wait.
Next spring we’re going to Bermuda.
Yes, I like to plan out my life.
Makes me happy to do so and gives me something to look forward to.
And we will still be wintering at least one month in Florida. So yaa hoo!
Enjoy Jamaica, mon. Have me a mai tai and thin about me when da sun sets. (no typos)

        1. Yes, you are a planner, that’s for sure! Like you, I appreciate having something to look forward to, too! I can’t wait to read about your adventures. Thank you for the wishes. Jamaica sunsets are some of my favorites :-)!

  2. Great photo(s). We had our 1st snow here, yesterday. Oy. No matter. I’m impervious. The same cannot be said for My Beloved Sandra, though. When the school year’s over, she, too, will be retired. My guess is: the battle over where to live out “Our Golden Years” will be fully underway.

    1. Thank you, Ron. Oy…I’m not ready for the snow yet, but I know it is just right around the corner. Looks like you’ll be on a new adventure too, I’m sending well wishes your way. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

  3. While change is never easy, you are right. We must welcome it openly and try to see where it leads us. Great reminder. The corn I see is gone so now the ground rests waiting for the spring renewal – as we should as well. It will come, just not excited of the white stuff in between.

    1. So true! Yes, they cut the corn last weekend – so observant of you! :-)! I’m not excited about the white stuff either…!

  4. I don’t experience that much of a fall here in California anyway. We have Indian summer and then winter comes. Still, I’m not ready for winter yet!

    1. I enjoy the 4 seasons here, this year though…they have blended into each other too much to notice the transitions. I’m right there with you, I’m not ready for winter!
