There’s that to be happy about

I can’t contain my excitement for the day.  I’m so full of bright and happy feelings, I’d be a meme for sunshine if you could see me standing here in my flannel jammies, topped with a 1990’s Disney sweatshirt 2 sizes too big.  I’m just beaming from ear to ear with a smile a 7-mile beach wide.

Oh, and I’ve got my running shoes on, too, ‘cuz I type at a standing workstation.  Duh…

Plus I’m no longer in my celestial horizontal position in bed (yeah…some people do that…weird…I know…right?!).

Nope, I’m upright and ready for the day!  My cup of coffee is was full.

Even if I can’t see anything but dark celestial skies outside my window as I write, I know the moon is out there somewhere, shining.  And soon the sun will come up and we’ll be able to see the handiwork of the persistent pain in the a** ol’ man Winter.  Who by the way has over-stayed his welcome?

I’m doing my best to ignore him.  Instead, I’m here writing about my pre-vacation celebratory mood.

There’s that to be happy about…

I’m also happy to say I finished off another bag of Tostitos last night.

So it’s a puffy kind of morning.  Maybe it is due to a pressure change, yeah, let’s go with that?  We got another 6″ of snow overnight, so um, yeah…

There’s that to be happy about…

Mr. will be tickled pink, though, ‘cuz it was Lil’ ol’ me in my pink flannel PJ’s, covered up with my Parka and mittens, who tossed on my boots and shoveled Copper’s spot in the yard.  Thank goodness it was light, fluffy, sparkly, white sh*t, so it was an easy task…

But, there’s more…

Today’s the day I march right in front of my mirror to celebrate maintaining my pre-vacation weight for the month.  I still have to keep going and maintaining, but it’s time to start committing to the actual what am I taking along with me on the trip clothing.

I shall try on all the clothes that I bought over the course of a month, in between returns/exchange trips, and all that stuff.  Those babies need washing and preparing and packing.

There’s that to be happy about…

I’m preparing myself for that vision I’ll see when I reveal my Midwesterner 54-year-old body of a lookalike Tostito eating celebrity woman – whose body has long been covered by layers upon layers upon layers of warm flannel material for eons.  That same body hasn’t seen sunlight in years months.  All of us are missing seeing the sunshine and green grass and the dewdrops on dandelions.

But…I’m excited, it’s finally time to pack the luggage for the trip outta here to land in the warm sunshine…far…far…far away from the snow.

There’s that to be happy about…

Heading into this week, I’ll have plenty of time to pack, unpack, repack, unpack, and repack.  And remember, that I packed too much last trip, so I’ll unpack, repack, unpack, repack.  All the while I’ll celebrate that I’m packing the suitcase ‘cuz I’ll finally be free of this kind of view of sunshine.

I’ll soon be replacing the view with this kind of sunshine.

Oh, yeah, it’s finally time to do the single digit dance.  And paint my toes, ‘cuz they need to look pretty as I walk through the surf…

PS – Which photos do you like better for memes?  Tell me about your favorite one and what title you’d put on it?  Make my day even brighter with a funny meme title!  Have you been to the 7-mile beach in Jamaica?  Are you a fan of walking in the surf?  Do you eat Tostitos, too?

    1. Yes! Soon! I sure the heck hope so too. The 10 day forecast (which is very reliable, I know…!) indicates we might be safe from any snow arrivals.

  1. Confirmation that anticipation is almost as much fun as the vacation itself! Almost! 🙂 I created a standing work station at my old job. Thinking about re-instituting that option for my retirement writing. My body needs to move more.

    1. Thank you, JoAnna! I don’t know what I’d do if I had to sit all day – I alternate between standing, squatting, and then sitting on an exercise ball to break up the day. I’m positive I’ll keep that set-up when I retire to keep moving! I see you’re doing some moves yourself today! Way to dance the day away! xx

  2. So exciting as the day gets ever closer. We got light snow last night bu the stuff coming Sunday looks to be another 2-6″ but I think it will be south of you. Come on spring. Cant be too soon.

    1. Yes, it finally feels exciting. We’re expecting more snow next weekend… 🙁 Yes, spring, will be a welcome sight! Enjoy your weekend!!

  3. I’d love to eat a bag of Tostidos, but all that sodium will raise my BP! I’ve never been to Jaimaica but love walking a beach, feels nice and is a great exfoliant. 😎🌴🌵

    1. Yeah, I have to monitor my servings, but I don’t eat salt in anything else, except my 4 bowls of popcorn…! Yes, sand and surf, are great exfoliants!! 🙂

  4. Yes! Single digits! I’m only a few days behind you. And the anticipation is almost as much fun as the vacation. Almost. 🙂 Enjoy packing and repacking. I need to start soon.

    1. It feels way more exciting when the single digit mark appears! Thanks, I’m sure I’ll still be packing and repacking up to the point we walk out the door! Enjoy your anticipation, too, it’s been fun sharing this pre-vacation stuff with you ;-)!

  5. Those are great beach photos – worthy of any uplifting quotes! Good luck with the packing process. That’s always a challenge for me. What to bring. What I might need. What if??? And the packing lists. Do you save lists from previous trips like I do? Sometimes that helps. I’ve never been to Jamaica, but it sounds heavenly. And walking the beach is just about my favorite thing to do. 🙂

    1. Thank you, I love looking at beach shots! I don’t have a list, but I’m making one and hope it helps! My kids make lists and save them from trip to trip. Beach walks are so heavenly! Ah… Thank you for sharing your thoughts – hope you have a wonderful Saturday!!

  6. The snow on the chair looks like a DQ cone minus the curl! You’ll enjoy the better view – maybe bring back a jar of sand to sprinkle on Copper’s spot – he’ll know you were thinking about him. 🙂

    1. The wind was very creative with snow drifts. I think I will bring back a bit of sand. We always do in our shoes somehow, but a special little bit for him might be a good idea too.

  7. Have not been to Jamaica. Love walking on the surf. Who doesn’t love Tostitos? Enjoyed your post. Couldn’t help smiling while reading. Enjoy the warmth and sunshine. 😊
