How My 645th Post Inspired Me

You’d think blog post ideas would just fall out of the clear blue sky so easily for me by the time I’m writing this my 645th post.

My brain and my world are waking up slowly this morning.  Happens to me, especially when I hang out with dear friends, late into the night.

Mornings like that, I feel off.  So I either grab the camera and walk outside…

Or I grab some coffee, and breakfast hoping to find inspiration.

When the sun shines bright, I’m distracted by things other than writing.  The other things feed my soul while I watch them feed off of the world they’re discovering.

I’d much rather enjoy taking time just to sit and listen to the world wake up, and the birds sing…and dream of places to visit and things to see.  And a bike that’s in the garage, just waiting for me.

To take a ride to explore.

Some ideas sprout easily.

Some take time for me to nibble on to discover.

Oh, yeah…that’s it, it’s such a nice day…a Saturday, no less! So…yeah, that’s it…I’m off to enjoy it, with my camera in hand, and a smile on my barnacle free face.

Post Inspiration – Linda G. Hill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Fall from the Sky

PS – Happy Saturday all – what do you have planned for fun?  I hope it involves some sunscreen protected sun exposure!  When you feel like your idea bank is tapped out, where do you go to find inspiration?

  1. The sun! The sun! We are having sunshine here, too, and I’m going to spend the day outside as much as possible. (Some weeds may die today, too.) Happy Saturday! (I love seeing the seasons change in your back yard. I take similar pictures of our space…it’s nice to watch the seasons.)

    1. Yes! SUN! Me too – I was just reading the Preen bottle, ready to take weed action! Happy Saturday to you – enjoy the sun!

  2. The wonder of nature always inspires me. From the lone purple tulip out front that the squirrels haven’t eaten yet to the vast mountains out west. Enjoy your day!

    1. Ah, yes, I agree – your thoughts are inspiring, thank you for sharing. 🙂 Hope you enjoy your day too!

  3. Your yard! No snow! Finally :). Just cloudy damp weather here today. Will have to wait for sun until Monday. Yuk. It is nice even light, though, for taking pictures. Happy Saturday!

    1. I know – it’s green, not white, FINALLY! Hope you had fun getting out to take photos. I did – I couldn’t resist being outside instead of inside on such a nice day! Happy Weekend to you!

  4. I’ll have a ride later, get some new photos for my site somewhere today, meanwhile writing up new posts! I see your plants have sprouted! I’m almost to 4000 posts on my site. Happy weekend Shelley!

    1. Sounds/looks like a productive day for you John. WOW – 4000 posts – I better get busy ;-)! Happy Weekend to you too.

  5. Where do I go for ideas? YouTube and Wikipedia. I don’t have that problem as a rule, because I have my week pretty well blocked out. You come up with some great stuff!

    1. John, your ability to put together all of your posts impresses the heck outta me. Thank you for your encouragement of my blog.

      1. You’re welcome. Dave Barry once said that when he had trouble coming up with column ideas, he’d sit back and thinjk about how much easier coal mining would have been. That usually got him moving.

  6. I’m approaching 100 posts. Loved the deer joke – hope your deer friends aren’t too tired to enjoy Saturday too! Warm and possible sun this afternoon, so a day to prune the rosebushes, as rain all next week again.

    1. Congrats on approaching 100! That’s a great accomplishment. Thanks for catching my humor. My friends were tired too – but we all survived the late night and next day! Happy pruning to you – enjoy the nice weather while it lasts.

  7. Cool pics to delight the senses! Those avocados look yummy. Say hello to the deer for me. We had some in the back yard at my parents’ house.

    1. Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed them! The avocados are so yummy – and easy to make. I’ll be sure to send the deer your good cheer – PS your post still has me smiling!! Happy Weekend to you. 🙂

      1. Thanks for passing the smile back to me! 🙂 Have a good week full of smiles! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  8. Very clever and look at your green thumb with those little sprouts that you just showed us the other day. Hope you got out and enjoyed a long bike ride after the long Winter Shelley. We had sun, but nothing intense and a blue sky like yours. Tomorrow is the day for that.

    1. Thank you, Linda! Yes, got out to enjoy the day – no bike ride, but a LONG walk around our quaint little town. I thought of you when I saw the squirrels running about. They didn’t approach me, I didn’t have peanuts for them. Enjoy your day today!!!

      1. Glad you got out and saw your town and those bikes with their decorated baskets (that reminds me that Jill never mentioned Jim seeing them … for that matter she never mentioned my blog either and she follows me). I walked a little through Wyandotte today. It is similar to your town – it is down near the water at Bishop Park and the main street is full of little bistros, coffee shops, fun and quirky gift shops and art galleries. They always have a street fair every July. It was a beautiful day Shelley. I intended to save today’s post for mid-week, but decided to go ahead and write it today instead. We have five days of rain coming up so I figured I’d languish out there as long as I could. It might be very soggy for that 5K next Saturday at this rate.

        1. It was great to get out in the sunshine this weekend! I could’ve/should’ve weeded my garden beds while it was nice, but NOPE – I played and had fun instead. I’m glad you had a fun day, too! I’ll be by to check out your post to see what you were up to.

          1. I had inside and outside stuff to do and did the same thing Shelley. I figured we had such a long Winter and crummy Spring that I owed it to myself to get out and enjoy the nice weather – I knew we had an entire week of rain on the way as well.

          2. I don’t know about you, but I’m really glad I did that. It’s 40 degrees and supposed to be cold and rainy for the next few days here. You’re right we deserved to enjoy the nice weather!

          3. My feelings exactly Shelley and even though I must say I did have a guilty feeling heading out the door and when I returned to see dust and more that needed my attention, I just abandoned those thoughts. The constant crummy weather has just gotten to me to be honest … if this is the new norm, we have to embrace every sunny day we can.
It is a torrential rain out there now – SMH.

          4. I agree – enjoy the sun while you can!! I don’t blame you a bit for how you’re feeling. I hope the rain doesn’t last long today!

          5. It ended up being a torrential downpour so I just did my dandelions post and mentioned that I just seized the day and hit the road last weekend. It will launch tomorrow evening. At least some good came to being sequestered indoors this morning. I have mentioned just seizing the day in the past – I had two friends who were ill and told me never stay inside and be tethered to the house – enjoy each day. One has passed away, one had two bouts of cancer and just had brain surgery … I will listen to those wise words.

          6. Yes, you’re wise to embrace those words. And I’m always impressed with what you accomplish despite the obstacles you’re presented with! Hang in there, the sun will shine again!

    1. Thanks, Dan, I did! And it looks like it’s sticking around for a bit still this morning. YAY!

  9. I hope you enjoyed a glorious Saturday. Ours was probably not as awesome but the kids did help me get a ton done in the garage so my husband will be psyched when he gets back tomorrow. Oh, and I made my mom’s banana bread this morning and the gluten free version is DELICIOUS. I can’t tell you how happy this one thing made me today.

    1. I did have a great day! It was far from worklike productive – but it was glorious to walk outside in nature. Ooooo…fresh banana bread sounds wonderful. Did you share that recipe on your blog? Share the link – I’d like to try it. I have my grandmother’s recipe, that I adore, but am always open to trying new recipes. Hope your hubby is thrilled with the garage!!
