A dog’s view on missing summer walks

All I hear now is, “Nope, we’re not gonna go out to enjoy sharing the road with the people who drive by in their warm and cozy cars.”

It’s too damn cold!  It’s not nice like the summer days where I could coax the Mrs. to take me for a walk when I wanted to go for one.  Even if I wanna go, I know its way too cold.

A pup can’t make this sh*t up – look how cold it is!

A pup’s nose knows when the dew on the ground solidifies and turns to white (with some yellow coloring thanks to me), it’s damn cold outside.

I also know that only I get to go outside to do any kind of business.

But, I can dream of warmer days.

As I wandered around in the dew-kissed grass while Mrs. played with her camera.

And then I don’t feel so sad.  In fact, I feel all warm and cozy and ready to crawl back into bed.  Good thing I’m adaptable to climate changes.  Who needs the road when you have a bed made for a king?

PS – Is it cold where you’re at?  It’s too early for me to have it so cold!  I’m sending you SOS calls for pictures you have a warmer weather – Share your links, I’ll admire your photos!

  1. I think we’re a degree or two warmer over in Appleton. I agree it’s too cold far too early. I tried to go for a walk yesterday after work and didn’t make it far. Brrrr! So, I don’t blame the pup for not wanting to go too far.

    1. Dang winter! I heard rumors it’ll be in the 40’s the rest of the week, hope you get a chance to walk outside then! Stay warm!!

  2. Right now, it’s 47 degrees (8 centigrade), which is seasonable, maybe a little colder than usual. We’ve gotten a lot of rain this week. I haven’t paid close enough attention to figure out why.

  3. Mimi doesn’t mind the cold too much, its the stuff that falls out of the sky that is the problem, whether it be liquid or frozen…yuck. I think colder times make us appreciate the warmer days of spring and summer.

    1. Copper shivers as he ventures out in the cold – he’s a warm weather fan, that’s for sure. Yes, I agree with you on the appreciation factor. Stay warm!

  4. Well here in SE Michigan we’re almost as bad as you – we had 20 degrees this morning. This was such a cute post from a dog’s perspective … and I loved the line about the yellow snow. Such a sweet photo of your dog laying on the bed napping – with a bed that comfortable, the 71-degree temps and Mom to cuddle up near, I would stay inside too! P.S. – great macros photography of those rain drops Shelley.

    1. Yeah, same here in WI. It’s supposed to be warmer today and tomorrow…I might get a chance to take a walk outside. Thank you for your feedback, glad you enjoyed the post (Copper appreciates the kudos) and the phots. Macro photography is a favorite of mine. Hope you have a great walk today!

      1. I follow a macro photographer and I’m never strayed there but he has some beautiful, up-close shots of insects that just blow me away … he can make a spider look cute. 🙂

    1. Yes, it’s BRRRRRR here – but this weekend we’ll be in the 40’s, so it’ll be like a heat wave, we might even go out without a scarf on! Enjoy your warmth for me! 🙂
