Go ahead, admit it, he was right

Upon rising this morning, to the noise of the cats reminding me I was late to feeding time, I’m trying to grasp the fact that the damn groundhog appears to be right.

He crawled out of that hole in the ground and saw his shadow on February 2.

6 weeks later, snow will finish melting, and the birds will hop around in the grass.

The glowing spring-breakers will return from the fun they had vacationing in the sun.

Eventually, spring will arrive, as it always does.

So, don’t worry, we’ll have our time outside soon.  Busy bees we’ll be – ticking off items from the growing to-do-list.

Oh, my, guess we better add ‘deck needs repainting’ to the list!  We staycationers know how to have fun in the sun, now don’t we?

Post inspiration, thank you to Linda Hill

  1. Did you take that photo? The one on the lake with the guy? It’s not like any you have posted before, lol! Love the photo of the bird!

  2. The weekend is supposed to be nice, Shelley, and spring is just around the corner. It will be nice to go for walks outside again and enjoy watching the grass turn green.

    1. I’m holding you to that promise! 😉 Yes, it will be nice, and perfect weather for you to begin your poetry adventure!! I can’t wait to read more about how you enjoy the course!

  3. It’s funny how many things are added to the TO DO list once the weather finally breaks. Some of it I welcome and some of it I try to pass on to my husband. Like staining the deck!

    1. You’re spot on!! We welcome the warmer weather with a slight panic. I agree with you, the deck staining isn’t top on my to-do list!! Thank you for stopping by to share your thoughts!!
