Saying yes to hops – india pale lager

Full confession here…I’m not a fruity beer kind of gal.  Give me a choice and I’d try a beer with hops first over any others.  I’ve heard it isn’t recommended to drink hop beers if you’re going to drink any other kind after it.  Supposedly it will ruin the taste of the next beer you drink…that is if you have more than one!  It’s never really bothered me.  The flavor of the hops is rich and I like the finish.  A favorite hop beer of mine is our local Leinenkugel’s India Pale Ale.

When IPL first came out, it replaced the Hoppin’ Helles, aka, Helles Yeah.  I liked those versions too.  They have since been retired.  I’m hoping they won’t retired the IPL beer yet.  Yeah, I agree with the label description, “Balanced hops, smooth finish.”

In Wisconsin, it’s getting cooler now.   Fall will turn to winter, dandelions will fade away and be replaced with the white of winter snow.  Until then, I’m kicking off my flip flops, soaking in the warmth of the sunset and chilling with a beer for a moment or two.  Time will come to hide away the flip flops, find some boots to wear while trekking out to taste local winter seasonal beers!

Cheers to you!  Hope you’re enjoying some relaxing moments too!

What’s your favorite beer?

I’d highly recommend if you’re in the area to stop by, take a tour and taste Leinenkugel’s beers at The Leinie’s Lodge.  Are you a beer lover too?  What’s your favorite beer?   What do you recommend I try?
