Collections are droll to other people gazing upon them, that is unless they are a collector too. Collectors tend to pause and celebrate when they see something that makes them smile.
In my kitchen, I have a simple little apple collection. I’ve gathered them myself or received as gifts over the years. You know, the usual way collections happen.
My apples used to be cluttered. But in a dusting flurry one day, I became ruthless. Or as one might call it – I had a minimalist moment.
Out went the big dust collecting types and in entered some open space for my eye to rest on the shelves as I admired the remaining stars.
I kept only the special ones or those I find both special and humorous in a way, (aka, they make me smile when I look at them). I don’t want to really honk my own horn, but don’t you agree, this little apple cup does add the adorable entertainer effect!?!

It also reminds me of my nephew who gave it to me as a gift years ago – he was all smiles as he watched me open the gift. In color or in black & white, I smile every time I look at it!
