Hunting me some curves, ya baby

If only birds could be caught by the smell of a small dog’s nose, this pup would be a world-class-award-winning bird dog.

Don’t let the yawn fool you, he’s just pretending to be bored.  He’s a clever one.

At the sound of birds squawking through the open window, Copper can go from sleeping comfortably at my feet one minute.

To alert and racing for the door the next.  He runs to the edge of the fence and struts, feeling proud that he scared whatever he heard away.

He’s my faithful yard adventure companion.

When I’m out in the garden admiring my handiwork…or work to be done, Copper does his own thing.  I’m noticing lately that some flowers thrive in the weeds and some…hmm…the outcome is to be determined.

Knowing I’m well occupied, Copper stops and finds a safe spot to stand, under shade or shelter of a tree, where he knows the large bird predators can’t see him, but he can still hunt them via his nose.  I tell ya, he’s a clever bird dog.

His actions make me smile because I know Copper’s content, smiling, and happy to be with me while I’m on a walkabout to discover arches, domes, and half circles in the yard.

So what did we (I) find?

The June bug kicks off the challenge swimmingly, don’t you agree?

Ewe…nope, that’s gross.

Okay, how about the blades of the daylilies?

Or the tiger lilies?  They have arches and curves.

I think the Irises take the prize for this challenge.  They have arches, domes, and half circles.

Oh, my, time flies when we’re having fun in the yard.  Before I knew it we had exhausted our yard discovery day.  Soon thereafter, the rain scared us away, and we headed back inside to find…the perfect Tuesday fun foto…

I seriously can’t make these things up…

It was a double rainbow moment to find a lot of golden bananas I hadn’t planned on eating yet…

And there you have it, I had what I needed…enough fun bird dog hunting ammunition (aka, inspiration) for a double prompt challenge entry.  WINNER! 🙂

PS – what photo do you think captured the dog hunt prompt best and which one do you think captured the fun foto challenge best?  Critique away – I love to hear your opinions!

Post inspiration thanks to –
