How to perfect candid confessions

About yesterday’s post…so yeah, I owe the local Wisconsin snow loving pals an apology.  When I published my post, it hadn’t started snowing yet.  But within an hour or so, it did snow.  Boy, did it snow!  A lot!

So I was wrong.  What’s wrong with that?  Nothing, really, it happens all the time.  Perfecting candid confessions takes practice.  At least I can be frank and admit to my mistakes.  Unlike the weather folks, I, on the other hand, don’t get paid for my errors.  No grudges held, just the facts Jack.

But when I’m really, really, really wrong in my snowy weather estimates, I take note and I document my utter failure of believing the weather forecast to come true.  Not only did we get snow throughout the day, we got more overnight and we had a power outage involving a man’s adventure in the dark to gather wood for a fire.  I slept through most of that, sometimes it’s easier to just stay out of the way and not take any pictures.

Time lapse slide show reveals 7 or so inches of lovely snow throughout the day:

It is easy for me to be candid about my error – I didn’t have to go out in the snow.  I’m lucky that way.  Yesterday I was working from my home office.  Thankfully, I didn’t have any traveling or meetings scheduled that required me to head out in the blustery snow.  Most things were cancelled anyhow by those folks who believed the weather forecast.  Smarty pants they were.

The main and most important reason I don’t have to go out in snowy weather is because I have a knight in shining armor who is the master of our (his) snow blower and the fireplace.

“Thank you for blowing all the snow hon, it looked like it was pretty heavy and tough going most of the way?”

“Holy crap it is heavy, wet, shit.  It was tough holding on to the blower and pushing it through the snow; my hands are gonna be sore tomorrow.”

“I’d have to move if something happened to you…I couldn’t blow snow like you do.”

“Nah, you’d just have to learn how to use the snow blower…wink, wink…”

“I was watching you, I don’t know if I could do that, it looked really tough going in spots.”

“Why, did you take pictures that will show up on the internet for all to see?”

“Well…I did take a few pictures…”

Quirk me some of your candid advice on taking photos of the snow?  What’s your advice on learning how to use a snow blower…after sharing pictures of the man at work, I might be the one behind the snow blower next snow storm…

  1. Sounds like fun! Don’t worry, you’re halfway through winter! I think my wife would rather stay indoors and take pictures of me outside, too 😆

  2. When my husband can not shovel the snow, I have learned how to pick up the phone and dial the neighborhood handyman who comes and plows our 250 ft driveway for only $75 bucks! As long as I have at least one finger and a dial tone, I can get anything done! LOL

    1. Good thinking Cindi – that’s a long driveway!! LOL – that’s too funny, I bet you have a great speed-dial list!!

      1. I say ‘Hey Siri!’ to my iPhone (I selected the male British voice, pretending he’s my butler) and I have Siri make the phone call. Finger is saved! After all, I just had my nails done. LOL!

        1. That’s a tough one…he’s perfected his cooking techniques, it’d be tough to let him go. 🙂 You might want to read my today’s post though…
