Cat cravings – a theory was proven

Our cats have a theory.  If they sit together (begging) snacks appear.  I’m sure they have other hypotheses on how to manipulate humans, but I digress.  This is about mid-day cravings.  Humans and cats alike.

Yesterday, we left the house before they were given their anticipated treats.  They couldn’t see we (I) had a more important need to fulfill.  My husband understands, the cats, well…not so much.

I had a photography adventure craving (we both work from home – it is essential to get out once in a blue moon).

As we headed out the door, I wondered if the cats would move on or wait for their source of food to reappear?

I justify my actions by planting seeds of ideas about what I’m looking for, and my husband comes to the rescue by finding roads to travel.   He had a hunch we’d find something fun for me to take a picture of.  Bingo – he drove us down an old running (jogging) route with fun curvy roads.  As we rounded a bend, I looked out at the trees and told him to stop and back up.

Damn, he’s always right (shh…don’t tell him…but on the other hand, he does crave and appreciate being right – we all do in our own ways!).

Two curious deer stood still posing for the camera!  Double damn…I didn’t have my zoom lens.  I doubt the deer would’ve waited for a change out anyhow?  We were there long enough to discover there were 3 of them.  The one on the right was pretty shy.

They ran off.  We headed over the river, through the woods, across a creek and what did we find – more photo ops, of course (how pathetically cliché I know!).

I took plenty of pictures for future blogs and editing fun.  Creativity cravings don’t stop with a camera click.  The clicks just start the fires burning (really, you tried to be clever again…?).

Ah…my craving satisfied.  It was a great way to spend our lunch break and way fewer calories than a 1/2 a bag of Tostitos and dip (I’m still on that dubious minimalist skinny jean diet)!

We were gone for approximately 20 minutes.  Entered into the house to find…two more cravings waiting to be satisfied.

Hmm…a tie – looks like both the human and cat theories are both proven this go-around!

  1. Live this! Truth about kitties. My husband and I operate the same way. I toss the ideas his way and he takes me to where the adventures and photos ops wait. Nice to meet you here.

    1. Thank you, Donna, for stopping by to read my post and share your feedback. Kitties and husbands are great sources for blog posts – I’m looking forward to reading more about yours!
